To mark the 40th anniversary of “Valley Girl,” Frank Zappa’s sardonic, GRAMMY-nominated Top 40 hit co-written with and featuring his then teenage daughter Moon Unit Zappa, acclaimed British electronic music producer Flux Pavilion has been recruited to craft a very special remix of the track.

A longtime Zappa fan, Flux Pavilion, adds a unique twist to the classic while keeping true to the essence of the original. A true legend of the electronic music scene, The Circus Records owner has previously worked alongside M.I.A., Dillon Francis, Marshmello, Steve Aoki, and many others.

Flux has made no secret of his passion for Zappa over the years, in fact singling him out as one of his key influences. “What I love about his music is how wild and untethered it is. He was so unashamedly himself as a creator and that’s a mentality that I have woven into everything that I do,” Flux Pavilion says.

Released in 1982, the satirical track – which poked fun at the teen culture of Southern California’s San Fernando Valley – became the innovative artist’s biggest hit in the U.S. and inadvertently popularized “Valspeak” across the nation while capturing the zeitgeist of the day.
