French dubstep producer IVORY has teamed up with fellow French artist Hammerhead and singer-songwriter Dani King to deliver a stunning slice of drum and bass on Monstercat.
Their collaborative single, “Bad For You” is rife with rhythmic drums, interstellar effects, and haunting vocals that pack a punch with every drop. King originally produced the dark and moody demo, with IVORY and Hammerhead bringing the lyrics to life with their signature complex sound designs.
IVORY shares, “Drum and bass has always had a place in my heart and I’ve always been inspired to produce a lot of other things outside of dubstep. It was after releasing two remixes that I felt confident enough to start working on my own drum and bass songs. Working on “Bad For You” with Hammerhead and Dani King was a great experience and a perfect mix of what each of us does best.”
Dani King adds, “I feel very lucky to finally be hopping on the drum and bass wave. It was so much fun to tap into a different vocal tone and take advantage of my low voice, while still keeping this track high energy and exciting. IVORY and Hammerhead were so much fun to work with and brought this topline to life in a way I never envisioned, and I love the end result.”
