Six-time Grammy nominated producer Kaskade has unveiled a very special edition Kaskade Christmas album on his his own Arkade label.
Teasing fans with his smooth, deep-house reworking of ‘Deck The Halls’ (feat. Erika), Kaskade also contributes his own velvety rich vocals to two of the LP tracks, ‘Cold December’ and ‘Winter Wonderland’.
“I’ve always loved Christmas music dating back to my days as a child going to church with my family,” said Kaskade. “All these years later, I’ve been able to put my own collection of Holiday music together and am really excited to have it out this season.”
A diverse and dynamic producer, Kaskade has carved a reputation as a groundbreaking innovator, with the ‘Kaskade Christmas’ album proving to be the perfect festive soundtrack, with a series of expertly crafted electronic productions entwining with more traditional seasonal sounds.
Teaming up with a series of talented collaborators across the release, Kaskade ropes in the rich, soulful vocals of Skylar Grey on ‘Oh Come Emmanuel’ with the silky songstress having previously featured on Kaskade’s 2016 deadmau5 team-up ‘Beneath With Me.’
The 13-song collection of Kaskade’s unique interpretation of holiday classics such as ‘Deck The Halls’, ‘Silent Night’, and ‘The First Noel’, also features vocals from the likes of Late Night Alumni, Ilsey, Gabrielle Current, Kayrae, Jane XO, Dia Frampton, and Debra Fotheringham; with the latter previously teaming up with Kaskade on 2013 track ‘How It Is’ from his ‘Atmosphere’ album.
“Some of the songs are huge departures from the original style, while others stick within the main framework,” added Kaskade. “Christmas is fun… so is the music. The mood of the season is about imagination, hope and love. This is for everyone, regardless of what you believe.”
Currently embarking on a series of ‘Redux’ tour dates, a unique stripped down tour focusing on deeper, and more club based sounds, Kaskade will close out the year with a special New Year’s Eve show at The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
