Koven and HALIENE have finally joined forces. And yeah, it was worth the wait.
Their new single ‘Orbit’ dropped and made noise instantly. On day one, it was named Jack Saunders’ Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1, picked up daytime rotation, and shot straight into the Shazam UK Dance Chart. Not bad for a first collaboration.
The track also marks something big for HALIENE. This is her first-ever step into Drum & Bass. And instead of easing in quietly, she jumped straight into a full-blown duet with one of the genre’s most recognizable voices.
Speaking on Jack Saunders’ show, Koven explained how the collab even happened. HALIENE had written a track at 174 BPM and reached out directly. If you know D&B, you know that tempo says everything. She asked if they’d help turn it into something bigger. They rewrote it together, Max handled the production, and suddenly it clicked.
Two voices. One track. And surprisingly, it worked instantly.
Koven say the back-and-forth vocals are what really make ‘Orbit’ hit. It feels like a conversation. Almost like two people chasing the same feeling from different sides. Their voices are totally different, but that’s the magic. It adds weight. Emotion. And honestly, it just sounds good.
This release comes after a huge year for Koven. Their second album ‘Moments In Everglow’ landed earlier this year and pulled in over 11 million Spotify streams. They also scored another Radio 1 Hottest Record with ‘The High We Seek’ and have been all over BBC Radio 1. Right now, they’re mid-tour across the US, Latin America, and Europe.
HALIENE isn’t slowing down either. She’s already one of the most in-demand voices in electronic music. From Grammy-nominated work with ILLENIUM to massive tracks like ‘Rush Over Me’, her catalog speaks for itself. Nearly a million monthly listeners. Sold-out headline shows. Major festival stages. She’s built this career brick by brick.
For HALIENE, ‘Orbit’ is personal. She says it’s about that one thing you can’t escape. The pull you keep circling, even when it hurts. For her, that pull is music.
And honestly? You can hear it.
‘Orbit’ doesn’t feel like a forced crossover. It feels natural. Emotional. Big without being messy. A proper meeting of two worlds.
This one’s sticking around.
