Chinese progressive house producer Melchi made his Monstercat debut today, unveiling his stunning six-track EP, ‘Lights.’
After months of struggling to write new music in the monotony of lockdown, Melchi struck inspiration in his desire to break free and reach a happier state of mind. Representative of his journey, the angelic pads, warm chords, and carefree melodies in the title track conjure feelings of hope, relaxation, and reassurance.
The bright arpeggiators and soft vocal chops in “Lepus” complement the crisp percussion and deep basses, sustaining the flow of energy throughout the EP. As the second Chinese artist to be signed to Monstercat Silk, Melchi has made a strong first impression with ‘Lights.’ Stay tuned for more from the talented producer.
Melchi shares, “The pandemic has been depressing, and I wanted to break this feeling, so I grabbed some inspiration and created these three pieces in only three days!”
