Mouth Water Drops Euphoric Electro-Pop Gem “Rise”

Mouth Water returns with ‘Rise’, his most uplifting and personal single yet, dropping June 27 via Through The Void Records.

Following the introspective tones of Smoke and the dreamy warmth of Fireflies, ‘Rise’ brings a bright jolt of energy while staying emotionally grounded, continuing Mouth Water’s evolution into one of the most heartfelt and forward-thinking names in electronic pop.

Originally written between 2019 and 2020, ‘Rise’ is soaked in memory and momentum. It channels that rare feeling of reconnecting with old friends, collaborators, or even parts of yourself you thought you’d lost. Wrapped in metaphors of celestial rebirth and new beginnings, the track captures both the ache of nostalgia and the thrill of looking ahead. It’s personal, powerful, and unapologetically emotional.

The soundscape of ‘Rise’ is a lush and energetic fusion, glittering synths, sharp rhythmic accents, and a relentless beat that feels tailor-made for festivals and summer road trips. There’s a vocal motif repeated like a mantra, anchoring the song emotionally and melodically. It’s got all the makings of a crowd favorite, with just enough edge to keep you locked in.

Mouth Water is no ordinary producer. The man behind the music, Lawrence Fancelli, cut his teeth between Florence and New York as a bassist and sound engineer before transforming a rustic Tuscan farmhouse into OSB Studio, the home base for the entire Mouth Water project. Since 2019, he’s been carving out a space in the scene with his blend of analog house energy and shimmering 80s synth-pop. But it wasn’t until 2024 that things truly exploded, Blackout and its Lindstrøm remixes took the project global.

The hype carried into live shows, where Mouth Water has been converting listeners into fans with immersive, multi-sensory performances. From Primavera Sound in Barcelona to opening for Röyksopp at Tenax Club, and then joining Sophie and the Giants on tour, each set blends analog instruments, futuristic visuals, and Lawrence’s magnetic stage presence.

And now comes ‘Rise‘. It marks another high point in a rising career, foreshadowing his upcoming album Technology Fueled Dream Obsolescence, a title that perfectly captures his bittersweet, nostalgic-yet-hopeful aesthetic. Like much of his discography, ‘Rise’ balances lush synth design with deep emotional resonance. It’s a feel-good track, but one with soul.

With critical love from MusicTech, We Write About Music, Electronic Groove, and more, Mouth Water is proving he’s not just part of the conversation, he’s leading it. He’s modern but nostalgic, pop but poetic, polished but raw. ‘Rise’ shows he’s just getting started.
