Australian producer and DJ PARIS is entering a transformative chapter with the release of her first-ever album, Labyrinth, arriving August 29 via Lane 8’s label This Never Happened. Alongside the announcement, she’s also unveiled the album’s first single, ‘Beechworth Cascades’, a breathtaking track that marks a powerful and personal new era.
The 12-track debut album has been years in the making and includes collaborations with Juno Mamba and Rinzen. It showcases PARIS’s evolution from underground club roots as Made in Paris into a more expansive, emotional, and genre-defying sound.
Leading the charge is ‘Beechworth Cascades’, a shimmering, field-recording-infused single inspired by a solo hike in Victoria. Built on the sounds of cicadas, cascading water, and lush synths, it captures a moment of pure clarity and connection with nature. “That moment in the forest was the seed,” PARIS said, recalling how she sat alone recording sounds, not knowing they’d become the start of something so deeply personal. The track blends ambient warmth and subtle builds with a Four Tet-like precision, making it the perfect introduction to Labyrinth’s introspective journey.
Describing the album title, PARIS (real name Paris Forscutt) explained, “The labyrinth felt like the perfect metaphor for what this process has been, going inward, exploring, making sense of all these parts of myself, and then surfacing with something to share.” Each song is a new twist within that metaphorical maze, revealing different facets of her creative and emotional landscape. From the ethereal opener “Genesis” to the euphoric pulse of “Stay” with Juno Mamba and the dark grooves of “DiCA,” Labyrinth flows across genres with intention and feeling.
Another highlight is the atmospheric collaboration “Wildfire” with Rinzen, which leans into cinematic tension, while tracks like “Papaya” and “Rain On A Monday” pull back into more reflective, stripped-down spaces. Labyrinth isn’t just an album, it’s a statement of purpose. After making waves with “Collide” (with Kaleida), which earned over 2.3 million streams, and building a loyal fanbase through support from Triple J, Pete Tong, and RÜFÜS DU SOL, PARIS is now fully stepping into her own.
To celebrate the release, PARIS is launching three special “Into the Labyrinth” headline shows this June across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. These immersive 4-hour sets will give fans a cinematic preview of the album in full. Following that, she’ll hit the road for an LP tour in September and October across Australia and New Zealand before heading to the US for the This Never Happened Presents tour. She’ll close out 2025 with shows in Johannesburg and Cape Town alongside Lane 8 and Sultan + Shepard.
‘Beechworth Cascades’ drops June 26 and sets the tone for an album that promises to take listeners on a personal, expansive, and emotional ride. Labyrinth arrives in full on August 29. This isn’t just the beginning of a debut, it’s the beginning of a whole new era for PARIS.
