As Spring turns its head and the brightness of the glowing season and following Summer approach, DJ Mag Top 100 DJ and Spinnin’ Records stalwart Plastik Funk links up with YouNotUs, putting the pedal to the metal to kick things up a notch on ‘Vroom Vroom’!
With releases this year already setting the scene alight including ‘Better Than This’ on Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings and ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ on Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s Smash The House, Plastik Funk returns to his Spinnin’ roots for this latest, epic production. YouNotUs, fellow Germans and highly-in-demand duo, have also risen through the ranks of not only the continent but the global scene on a whole. Working with names including Alle Farben, Janieck, and receiving multiple award-nominations for their work including ‘Best Dance Act’ and ‘Best Single’ from the likes of 1Live Radio.
‘Vroom Vroom’ pummels the gears into a harsher avenue for both acts, swerving with an intergalactic, hyper-intense boomerang of a vocal that pumps up the jam, bringing slices of glistening synths to the fore.
As an ever-so-slightly glassy melody eases through, almost progressive-like, amongst the reverberating bass, ‘Vroom Vroom’ mutates through genres from the second the key is in the ignition. Bringing stylistics that flirt with their house signature sounds thanks to stretching “Ooooh” vocals that life up the darker breakdown, ‘Vroom Vroom’ brings the party to a conclusion with big-room attributes, bass-heavy nods to house and a slappin’, jackin’ vibe all round!
