Post Malone is going country, again – the 29-year-old genre-bending artist revealed he’s deep into recording his new country album, telling Billboard he’s already made around 35 songs.
“We just sit and f***ing talk and make songs,” Post said about his sessions in Nashville with Ernest, Hardy, and Thomas Rhett. “I’m pretty excited for the new record already.”
The album follows the wild success of F-1 Trillion, which topped charts around the world in 2024 and redefined what a Post Malone project could sound like. While no official title or release date is out yet, he’s well into the scratch vocal stage, and loving it.
“I usually hate listening to my music, but listening to the band play, I get so excited.”
He’s not sticking to one sound, either. Post explained how he’s blending his country, rock, and pop roots into something that just sounds like… well, Post.
“That’s always been the thing about me, it’s all just f***ing music.”
His set at Coachella 2025 featured a mashup of new and old tracks, seamlessly weaving in fiddles, steel guitars, and high-energy transitions. He called out his bandmates Lillie Mae and Chandler “Cheese” Walters for adding flavor to both the country material and his older hits like Circles.
And yes, despite his chill image, Post admitted to feeling the pressure.
“I wasn’t as nervous back then… I’m just old now. Everything hurts.”
He returns to the Coachella main stage again Sunday, April 20.
