Following his Monstercat debut with Sullivan King on “The Dead March” last year, Ray Volpe makes his solo label entry today with “HAPPY SONG.”

The single is the first taste of his upcoming EP, ‘VOLPETRON ASCENDS,’ out later this year.

From headlining shows globally, to his songs dominating festivals, Ray Volpe has become a worldwide phenomenon. Ray colossally broke through the scene in 2022 when his song “Laserbeam” became the most sought-after ID, landing his debut on Billboard at #19 on their Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales Chart and #42 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Chart, and winning the 2023 Electronic Dance Music Awards’ ‘Best New Artist’ award. Support for Ray Volpe has transcended outside of the bass scene, with playouts, bootlegs/remixes, and new fans of his tracks from electronic heavyweights such as Skrillex, Chris Lake, Timmy Trumpet, Gareth Emery, The Chainsmokers, and Marshmello, who he collaborated with this year.

“HAPPY SONG” fuses raw dubstep power and melodious euphoria, embodying what Volpe is best known for. The ominous and aggressive bass drops enlivened by bubbly, melodic patterns are destined to drive festival crowds wild this summer – a prophesy already proved at festivals including Paradise Blue, COUNTDOWN, and EDC Orlando with spins from Excision, NGHTMRE, SLANDER, Sullivan King, Kayzo, Riot Ten, and Kai Wachi.

Volpe shares, “’HAPPY SONG’ came together pretty quickly. I wanted some new heavy music for EDC Orlando 2022 (my first EDC actually) and I knew it needed to have a long catchy fake out/late drop. I really liked the vocal sample and the idea for a “happy song” to be so dark & heavy. The contrast is funny, but also really displays everything about me in a way, fun & bright but also ready to destroy a crowd with something heavy!”

Volpe has over 20 festival appearances lined up this year, including Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, and Lost Lands. This year has seen him open for electronic acts Kayzo and Dabin, play iconic venues including The Kia Forum and The Great Saltair, and take to the stage with sold out shows across Europe and in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Having just debuted at EDC Las Vegas last weekend, he’s gearing up for Sunset Music Festival tomorrow evening where fans can dance to “HAPPY SONG” live.
