RÜFÜS DU SOL have today returned to the triple j studios to perform a gripping interpretation of Nirvana’s classic track “Something In The Way” for Like A Version.
Lifted from Nirvana’s iconic 1991 record Nevermind, the cover marks RÜFÜS DU SOL’s first Like A Version in eight years, having last covered Foals’ “My Number” and Booka Shade’s “Charlotte” in 2014.
Alongside the cover, the band also performed their original song “I Don’t Wanna Leave” from their 2021 ARIA #1 album Surrender. The record, which has over 60million Australian streams, also features ARIA Platinum single “On My Knees” and certified Gold tracks “Alive” and “Next To Me”.
Continuing their global takeover, RÜFÜS DU SOL have sold over 160,000 tickets on the Australia and New Zealand leg of their worldwide Surrender tour. Dates remain in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth following the group’s hypnotic performances in Brisbane and Sydney – the latter of which sold a mammoth 50,000 tickets across two shows.
After winning this year’s Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their 2021 single “Alive”, RÜFÜS DU SOL are the only Australian act nominated in next year’s Grammy Awards, with two nominations including Best Dance/Electronic Recording (“On My Knees”) and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album (Surrender).
At this year’s ARIA awards, the group took home the ARIA Award for Best Produced Album as well as the title of most nominated act with seven nominations spanning Best Video, Best Pop Release, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Dance/Electronic Release, Best Produced Album, and Best Group.
