Sam WOLFE continues to build his relationship with UMEK’s record label 1605 with his new EP ‘Machine Driven.’
This is Sam WOLFE’s fifth release on 1605 in 2023, following his numerous other releases in previous years. Fast becoming a staple of the record label’s roster, Sam WOLFE has also featured on other noteworthy imprints including Christian Smith’s Tronic and Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds.
Many of Sam WOLFE’s releases have been collaborations, including a recent one with UMEK that was titled “Mind of One”, but this release is a solo outing from the American producer.
The release is opened with the title track “Machine Driven” and it’s built on a foundation of tough percussion and a pulsating bassline. Its compelling vocal adds to the building tension that reaches a crescendo in the main breakdown section, before the drums hit back in, and the track lifts to the next level.
“Hold On feat. Turquoise Music” is another thumping techno track, but this one has old-school vibes with acid synths layered with piano stabs and an emotive vocal by Turquoise Music.
