Atlanta-based producer, singer-songwriter, and instrumentalist Silent Child made his Monstercat debut today with the indie-pop anti-love song, “Hate U/Miss U” featuring Lani Daye.

Serving as a primer to his anticipated EP coming this spring, 21-year old Silent Child displays self-awareness beyond his years between the defining guitar plucks and reverberating brass. Forging a sonic path all his own, his versatile influences take shape in perfect harmony with Daye’s crooning chords, delivering an introspective instant hit.

Silent Child shares, “Toxic relationships are hard to get out of. Sometimes when you’re with someone, everything starts out great, but down the line it just gets worse. True colors show with time and it can make you feel trapped. Unfortunately, building a connection with someone isn’t always easy to break no matter how bad they treat you. This song is about that inner conflict. You miss someone that you used to love, but you also hate yourself for missing them because of what they did to you.”

Silent Child took to music at a young age and barely finished high school while he followed his passion for production. Blending indie, rock, rap beats, and experimental electronic genres, he broke out in 2020 with his hit, “Fuck You,” which has run up over 95 million streams since.

Facing the challenges of ADHD and Asperger’s as a creative, his mind has never slowed but the chaos is what fuels his eclectic sound. Watch this space as Silent Child brings more new music to Monstercat in the coming months.
