McDonald’s is once again fueling kids’ imaginations, and this time, it’s pocket-sized.
Starting July 1, the fast food favorite is rolling out a brand-new collection of McDonald’s Happy Meal toys for 2024 that are mini versions of the restaurant’s most iconic items. Called the Lil McDonald’s Happy Meal, this adorable summer lineup includes 21 different mini toys that are already sending fans into full-on nostalgia mode.
Young fans of McDonald’s have always loved playing pretend with their meals, and now the brand is giving them the ultimate toolkit for it. Each Happy Meal will come with one tiny McDonald’s-inspired toy, ranging from a teeny-tiny register and itsy-bitsy fries to a mini Boo Bucket and even adorable little Chicken McNuggets. Basically, it’s like opening your own pint-sized McDonald’s restaurant right at home.
As Anna Engel, Director of Marketing, Brand, Content & Culture for McDonald’s USA, put it: “A McDonald’s Happy Meal has always been more than just a meal, it’s a joyful tradition that creates lasting memories for both kids and adults alike. As a parent, there’s something magical about watching your child’s imagination come to life with these tiny toys.” Engel shared that she’s especially excited to pass on the nostalgia to a new generation of Happy Meal lovers, and these toys definitely deliver on that front.
But McDonald’s isn’t just playing with toys this summer. The chain is also getting attention for the new Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry that launched nationwide on June 10. It’s a creamy dream, blending soft-serve vanilla with graham cracker crumbs, chunks of Hershey’s milk chocolate, and gooey marshmallow for that perfect campfire-in-a-cup flavor. Available in both regular and mini sizes, it’s already being crowned one of the best McFlurry flavors to date by dessert fans online.
And if that’s not enough to get you in the drive-thru line, McDonald’s is still offering their popular $5 Meal Deal, a budget-friendly bundle with your choice of a McDouble or McChicken, four Chicken McNuggets, small fries, and a drink. This joins other fast food meal deals like Taco Bell’s Luxe Cravings Box and Wendy’s Biggie Bag, proving McDonald’s is still holding its own in the fast food value game.
