Last weekend, the People of Tomorrow finally came together once again on the first weekend of Tomorrowland 2022 in Boom, Belgium.
After two consecutive years of cancellations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Tomorrowland 2022 will be hosted over 3 weekends for the first time ever with the first weekend past from July 15-17, the second going from July 22-24th and the final weekend being hosted from July 29-31.
Over weekend 1, roughly 200,000 fans made their way to the festival’s long-standing home in Boom. While over 800 DJ’s performed across 16 stages and played a myriad of multi-genre tracks over the span of the weekend, some tracks remained a common theme and made their way into multiple sets.
Billboard shared a list of the 20 most played songs courtesy of data collected by DJ Monitor, a global leader in electronic music monitoring with exclusive access to performance data from festivals, clubs, venues, and online streams. DJ Monitor identifies music for Collective Management Organizations, rights users, and technology companies worldwide.
With a mix of some old with the new, in stark contrast between the top two, the number 1 position went to the 1983 classic, “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) ” by Eurythmics. Followed y Acraze’s remix of Cherish’s 2006 hit “Do It To It”, followed by “Move Your Body” by Brazilian acts SEVEK and Ownboss.
Other additions to the list included the timeless festival staples like Sebastian Ingrosso, Tommy Trash and John Martin’s “Reload”, Tiësto’s “Lethal Industry” and of course, “Levels” by Avicii.
