Target Expands Again With 8 New Stores Opening Soon

Target is giving shoppers something to celebrate this summer with eight brand-new store openings across the U.S.

The beloved discount chain, often hailed by fans as “better than Walmart,” just announced exact locations and dates for these grand openings, spanning New York, California, Florida, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. If you’re in any of these states, keep your eyes peeled because Target is rolling in with a retail boost you won’t want to miss.

This is all part of a larger expansion plan, where Target is aiming to open over 300 new stores in the next decade. For 2025 alone, the retail giant has around 20 new stores lined up, and this latest batch starts dropping as early as July 20.

Kicking off the summer rollout is a 41,000-square-foot store in Queens, Astoria, Target’s eighth location in that borough. Opening day is set for July 20, and this store will come fully loaded with amenities like a CVS Pharmacy, order pick-up, same-day delivery, and next-day delivery options.

All remaining store openings are scheduled for August 17 and include major perks. Jurupa Valley, California, will welcome a massive new Target with its own Starbucks Café, Target Optical, and CVS Pharmacy. Over in Connecticut, both Guilford and Norwalk are getting new Targets, with Guilford celebrating its first-ever location.

Florida is also getting in on the action. Target is opening two new locations in Bradenton Heritage Harbor and Wildwood, both promising fresh produce, pantry staples, and affordable essentials. It’s not just another store drop, it’s a big win for locals craving that convenience in person rather than online.

Flemington, New Jersey, will be home to a more compact Target, marking the 53rd store in the state. And over in Pennsylvania, West Goshen will celebrate the arrival of its 79th Target store, officially landing in August.

Target’s latest move isn’t just about new locations, it’s also about keeping the in-store shopping experience alive at a time when most retailers are going digital. Many fans have shared that nothing beats walking into a clean, well-stocked Target versus scrolling endlessly online. One fan on X raved, “Target is better than Walmart,” while another praised, “It’s a much cleaner, nicer store with better everything than Kroger.”

This commitment to opening brick-and-mortar stores proves Target is listening to its loyal customer base. With each new store, Target continues delivering high-quality products at budget-friendly prices, not to mention convenient services and modern designs that elevate the shopping experience.

So whether you’re in the heart of New York or relaxing in sunny Florida, get ready, Target’s bringing its signature red carts, good vibes, and unbeatable value to a neighborhood near you.
