Trump Unveils ‘Presidential Walk of Fame’ Featuring an Unexpected Tribute to Biden

President Donald Trump unveiled a new White House exhibit named the “Presidential Walk of Fame”, along the West Wing Colonnade with framed portraits of previous presidents.

But one portrait drew attention and controversy: rather than a standard portrait of President Joe Biden, the exhibit includes a black-and-white photo of an autopen.

Trump has condemned Biden’s use of an autopen for signing official documents for years, and this symbolic move seems to taunt his predecessor. Trump special assistant and communications adviser Margo Martin posted a video on X of the gold-framed portraits and the “Presidential Walk of Fame” banner above them.

The move is consistent with Trump’s previous statements. Speaking in an interview with The Daily Caller a few weeks ago, Trump indicated that not all presidents would be “treated equally” and that Biden would be represented by an autopen. Biden’s spokesman refused to comment on the exhibit, although Biden himself has earlier downplayed Trump’s obsession as “ridiculous and false,” claiming he made all presidential decisions personally.

The action is part of a broader effort by Trump in his June memo, in which he instructed an inquiry into the use of Biden’s autopen and questioned his “cognitive decline.” The memo, issued to White House counsel and Attorney General Pam Bondi, requested an examination of whether aides to Biden had conspired to hide his health issue and whether documents signed with the autopen, such as pardons, executive orders, and memoranda, be examined.

Though Biden’s advisors rejected any systematic attempt to deceive the public regarding his mental or physical condition, Trump has kept the issue in the limelight. In a statement onboard Air Force One earlier this year, he compared his own use, stating, “I never use it. … Maybe for a letter to a young person, but not for pardons or executive orders. That’s disgraceful.”

White House redecorations do not start with Trump. He had previously moved Barack Obama and George W. Bush portraits, substituted a portrait of Hillary Clinton with one of himself, and refurbished the Rose Garden into what is now referred to as the “Rose Garden Club.” The new design includes stone and marble paving, lighting, and speakers and has been done in a style reminiscent of Mar-a-Lago patio designs.

The “Rose Garden Club” will hold its inaugural dinner on Wednesday night, with Trump, his Cabinet, and top White House officials present. The dinner also constitutes the first official display of the “Presidential Walk of Fame,” another indicator of Trump’s private stamp on the historic rooms of the White House.
