The sold out Masked Ball has been hailed the biggest year to date with over 6,000 in attendance across the 3-day weekend with its biggest line-up to date.

Celebrating a ‘decade of decadence’ for their tenth anniversary edition, fans saw 2ManysDJs, Groove Armada and Basement Jaxx headline – with stellar acts and performers providing the soundtrack and scenes for a no-holds-barred party.

Over the past ten years the group of friends behind the festival calendar’s funkiest and freakiest event have let their imaginations run riot, sending revellers on immersive adventures where senses are dazzled. This year, ‘Ballers’ were cordially invited to attend a soiree at ‘The Manor’- hosted over three days and nights of Cornish chaos.

Festival organizer Alec Short said, “We’re so pleased that so many of you came and celebrated The Ball’s 10th Birthday. This is the biggest the event has ever been with a sold out audience of 6,000 at our Porthleven Cliff top. It’s been a wonderful ten years and we’re incredibly excited to be heading into our second decade with you lot but we have one more trip to take you on before this year is finished… prepare for Coney Island Halloween.”

The wild weekender began with ‘Feast Friday’ – a demented and debauched dinner and disco, featuring a sumptuous spread of Cornish cuisine held in The Manor’s red-carpeted and chandeliered Grand Ball Room, with its sensational views over Mount’s Bay. Attendees then burned off the calories on the dancefloor when DJs took to the decks for the after-dinner disco.

‘Celebration Saturday’ saw Ballers dress up, get down and go wild as they explored the maze-like Manor’s multiple ‘rooms’. The weekend was co-headlined by the mighty Groove Armada and eclectic selectors 2ManyDJs, whilst Norman Jay MBE, supplied an injection of funk and soul. Elsewhere, drum and bass legend London Elektricity alongside MC Dynamite, with rave royalty Julio Bashmore and Radio 1 party starter B.Traits kept the weekend pumping.

Complimented by bright blue skies, beautiful view and the sun beaming down, ‘Sunday Service’ was an all-round success with Sun worshipping Yoga Ravers in The Terrace and the heavenly Jukebox DJs providing the ultimate summer playlist – before headliners Basement Jaxx closed the festival.

Now one of the UK’s most innovative parties, The Masked Ball announced today that it will return to Cornwall this Halloween with a bang. This year the event, which takes place in at Flambards Theme Park, Helston, Cornwall, on October 29, 2016 posted the below message on their Facebook page:

Ballers…Welcome to Coney Island
Where the Devil has his disco. A proper devils ball,
A surreal and strange sideshow of fairground follies and rock ‘n’ roll
You’re all invited gargoyles demons bats and all
Lots of dancing flames burning through the night
Dancing up and down that was his disco light.

The freaks and geeks made the DJs howling very loud
Playing to the devil who wore a big black shroud
The fires they were burning keeping well alight
Lighting up his hell to make it nice and bright.

Then he called his souls they would make his crowd
A Ball to remember to make the devil proud
They danced on through the night. till day began to fall
and that was 6am at the Halloween Masked Ball….
