Marcus Rashford Open to Barcelona Move, Keen to Link Up with Lamine Yamal

Marcus Rashford has made it clear he’s open to a move to Barcelona, admitting that he would love the chance to play with teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal.

The Manchester United forward is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after a difficult season and a loan spell at Aston Villa, and his recent comments have fueled speculation about a potential switch to La Liga.

Speaking to the Spanish YouTube channel xBuyer, Rashford didn’t shy away when asked about the idea of playing with Yamal. “Yeah, for sure,” he said. “Everybody in the world wants to play with the best. Hopefully… we’ll see.”

Yamal has taken world football by storm, despite being just 17. Rashford, who also broke into the first team as a teenager, is in awe of what the Barcelona star is already achieving. “It’s difficult to put into words what he is doing,” Rashford added. “He is not supposed to be doing that at 16, 17. It’s crazy.”

Rashford’s potential Barcelona move seems more than just talk. He hinted that Spain could be an attractive destination for personal and professional reasons. “Spain is nice, and it’s not too far from home,” he said, a subtle nod to his openness for a new chapter outside of England.

Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has added fuel to the fire. Speaking last month, he revealed the club’s interest in both Rashford and Liverpool’s Luis Diaz. “We like Luis (Diaz), we like (Marcus) Rashford, and we like other players,” Deco said. However, he made it clear that the club’s top priority was renewing the contracts of their core stars like Pedri, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde.

Still, Deco acknowledged that the club needs a different attacking profile. “From what we’ve seen this season, we need a player with a different profile to what we have to help the strikers,” he explained, possibly a reference to Rashford’s pace and direct style, which could complement the creative talents already at Barca.

While nothing is official yet, all signs suggest that Rashford is ready for a change. His public admiration for Lamine Yamal and growing interest from Barcelona could make a summer move very real. Rashford’s future at Manchester United appears uncertain, and Barcelona could offer the fresh start he needs, with the added bonus of linking up with one of the most exciting young players in the game today.

For now, fans will watch closely as the transfer window heats up. But one thing is clear: the Marcus Rashford Barcelona move is no longer just a rumour, it’s a very real possibility.
