Marvel Rivals fans, brace yourselves: Emma Frost is officially joining the game in Season 2. While she’s long been rumored, the character design has now leaked courtesy of reliable insider X0XLEAK, confirming her arrival alongside a new season centered around Krakoa and the Hellfire Gala.

The first leaked image reveals Frost in a sleek, Chun-Li-esque costume, staying true to Marvel Rivals’ tradition of pushing bold, stylized aesthetics. Unsurprisingly, fans are hyped, the game has never been shy about highlighting the sex appeal of its comic-book characters (Venom’s infamous twerk moment, anyone?).

In addition to Frost’s arrival, a “greeting message” from the developers has surfaced. The message teases an epic storyline: “After the inaugural Hellfire Gala, the Mutants’ meticulously crafted fireworks show once again left us awestruck. Emma Frost’s telepathic projections seemed to materialize right before our eyes, as the barren landscape of Mars transformed into a thriving sanctuary housing Krakoa’s sister: Arakko.”

That narrative sets the tone for Season 2, new maps, heroes, and fresh skins, all woven into a grand cosmic mutant saga.

But Frost isn’t the only mystery in Season 2. Players still don’t know which other character will be introduced mid-season. Leakers have floated names like Jean Grey, Professor X, and even Ultron. Update: it now appears Ultron will be that mid-season addition, even if his connection to the storyline remains unclear.

As for Frost’s in-game role? Still unconfirmed. There’s speculation she may be the second female Vanguard class hero, thanks to her diamond form ability. But NetEase has yet to lock that down publicly.

Marvel Rivals’ player numbers have dipped slightly from their peak of 644,000 concurrent users on Steam to 168,000, but that decline is typical toward the end of a season. A high-profile new launch with beloved characters like Emma Frost might be just what the game needs to spark another resurgence.
