Fortnite Servers Down for v35.10 Update: What to Know About Star Wars Additions, New Maps & Fixes

Fortnite servers are currently down as Epic Games pushes out its highly anticipated v35.10 update across all major platforms.

The servers were officially taken down at 4 AM ET (1:30 PM IST) for scheduled maintenance, with matchmaking disabled shortly beforehand.

While Epic hasn’t shared an exact end time for the downtime, previous updates suggest the game should be back online within 90 minutes to 3 hours, meaning players can expect to jump back in by late afternoon IST.

What’s Included in v35.10?

This latest update is stacked with new content, gameplay enhancements, and creator tools. Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:

Star Wars Content Returns

Fortnite continues its tradition of integrating pop culture franchises with fresh Star Wars content as part of the ongoing Galactic Battle event. New additions include:

  • Wookiee Bowcaster
  • CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster
  • Skins like General Grievous and a surprise inclusion: Darth Jar Jar

Players can expect themed quests and cosmetics tied to these new Star Wars assets.

The Walking Dead Universe (TWDU) in Creative Mode

Starting May 16 at 12 PM ET, creators can now use The Walking Dead Universe assets to build custom islands in UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite). These TWDU-themed creations can be submitted through the Creator Portal and may be spotlighted in Fortnite’s Discover section. Skybound, the rights holder, will also feature their favorite player-made islands.

New 2v2 Gunfight Template

Epic has introduced a new Gunfight template to help creators develop fast-paced FPS-style maps. The template:

  • Supports 2v2 gameplay
  • Includes features for managing weapons and player loadouts
  • Comes with a ready-to-play map using code: 5043-2939-1074

Cinderwatch Map in Ballistic Mode

A new tactical map called Cinderwatch joins the Ballistic Test Grounds playlist. Expect narrow alleys, explosive choke points, and ideal terrain for flanking. It’s optimized for high-intensity shootouts and small-squad tactics.

Gameplay Enhancements

  • Dedicated pistol slot now allows players to carry sidearms without sacrificing main weapon slots.
  • Free gadgets at round start in Ballistic mode streamline gameplay for all players.
  • Vote-to-surrender feature introduced to allow early exits in lopsided matches.

Visual & Performance Fixes

The update also includes several bug fixes and performance improvements, including:

  • Adjustments to matchmaking portals
  • Improved device stability
  • Smoother animations for Walker enemies from TWDU
  • Twitch integration added to Creator Profiles (joining TikTok and Instagram)

When Will Fortnite Be Back Online?

Based on past updates, Fortnite servers are likely to come back online between 5:30 AM – 7:00 AM ET (3:00 PM – 4:30 PM IST), depending on how smoothly the patch rollout goes. Players should keep an eye on @FortniteStatus on X (formerly Twitter) for live updates.

TL;DR: Fortnite’s v35.10 update brings new Star Wars weapons, TWDU creative assets, a new Gunfight template, and Ballistic map – plus several core gameplay upgrades. Servers are down temporarily and expected back online by late afternoon.
