Nintendo Switch 2 Price, Specs, and Launch Lineup Officially Unveiled

Nintendo fans, get ready: the Nintendo Switch 2 is coming in hot on June 5, 2025, and we’ve now got the full rundown on price, hardware, and launch titles.

Revealed at the April 2 Nintendo Direct showcase, the console will be priced at $449.99 for the standalone unit, or $499.99 for the ‘Mario Kart World’ bundle. Pre-orders will open April 8 in the UK and April 9 in the US.

What’s New with the Switch 2?

  • Display: A 7.9-inch 1080p LCD touchscreen capable of 120Hz refresh rates
  • Storage: 256GB internal memory
  • Dock: Supports 4K output at 60Hz and includes an active cooling fan
  • Joy-Cons: Upgraded Joy-Con 2 controllers include ‘mouse’ functionality for improved precision

The Switch 2 Pro Controller will retail for $79.99, while a pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers will set you back $89.99. A new Nintendo Switch 2 Camera will also be available for $49.99.

Battery Life: A Tradeoff

Battery life is estimated between 2 to 6.5 hours in handheld mode, slightly lower than the OLED model’s 4.5 to 9 hours. Nintendo says usage conditions and game types will heavily influence battery performance.

Launch Titles

The Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive with a stacked lineup, including:

  • Mario Kart World
  • Split Fiction
  • Fortnite
  • Civilization VII
  • Cyberpunk: Ultimate Edition

With a launch lineup spanning action, racing, shooters, and strategy, Nintendo seems set on proving the Switch 2 isn’t just a visual upgrade, it’s a generational leap.

Fans can expect deeper dives into gameplay in the weeks to come as Nintendo builds momentum toward release day.
