Following the critically acclaimed release of his debut four-track EP ‘Brooke’ in September 2017, young burgeoning French house producer, AxMod, now returns with the effortlessly cool follow up single; the vibrant summer-ready cut, entitled Talk (feat. DiRTY RADiO).

Out now via Sidekick Music, ‘Talk’ takes a slight stylistic departure from his fully instrumental first project, exploring a more up-beat, disco driven timbre, stamped with a groove-filled top line courtesy of Vancouver-based Shadi and Tonez – more commonly known as DiRTY RADiO.

Having already remixed the likes of Florence & the Machine, Chromeo, Major Lazer and Justin Timberlake to name a few, the classically trained AxMod – real name Foucault Jannin – draws his musical inspiration from a range of artists including Todd Terje, Daft Punk, Purple Disco Machine, Kygo and Para One, and is already carving out a distinctive signature style, shaped by his extensive travels around the globe.

As with the Brooke EP, the unique pack-shot and overall artistic direction for the record is delivered by French artist GeiKahO, and depicts a gator Foucault met whilst in Florida last year.

Complete with an impressive international following (over 20+ million streams on Spotify to date), electronic/R&B duo DiRTY RADiO have released on numerous esteemed labels including Mad Decent, Majestic Casual, Spinnin’ and Partyfine to name just a few, and have received love from the likes of BBC Radio 1xtra and JJJ Australia.

About AxMod

Parisian-born AxMod – real name Foucault Jannin – is undoubtedly one of the most exciting up-and-coming producers to come out of the French music scene in recent years.

Furnished with a mission to produce “music to make people swoon”, AxMod’s innate grasp of musical language and sonic texture is abundantly apparent in both his fun-fuelled remixes (for the likes of Chromeo, Saint Germain, Florence & The Machine, Major Lazer and Justin Timberlake to name but a few) and his own unique original productions.

Brought up in an apartment just next to the “Rock En Seine” festival in Paris, where him and his friends would attempt to sneak in each year, AxMod fell in love with electronic music as a teenager, inspired by iconic French artists, from Cassius, Breakbot and Daft Punk to Martin Solveig, Alan Braxe and Modjo.

Classically trained in piano from the age of just six, he quickly learnt to hone his own technique in the studio and was shortly signed by Universal Music, with his early productions going viral on the tropical house circuit alongside the likes of Kygo, Bakermat and Klingande.

Sharing DJ booths and festival stages across France with the likes of Thomas Jack, Dimmi, FKJ and Louisahhh, he became increasingly loaded with an eager ambition to undertake his own ‘musical universe’. Following a two-year trip to North and South America, September 2017 saw the critically acclaimed release of his debut four-track EP ‘Brooke’ – a fully instrumental project described by Foucault himself as “two unforgettable years in four eclectic tracks”.

Released by independent French imprint, Sidekick Music, the ‘Brooke’ EP was accompanied by beautiful and quirky graphics from Toulouse based artist Geikaho, which would prove to become an important theme of future releases.

Taking the music into a genre of its own, AxMod’s next project is the effortlessly cool follow up single, ‘Talk’. A stylistic departure from his fully instrumental ‘Brooke’ EP, ‘Talk’ explores a more up-beat, disco driven sound, accompanied by a groovy top line courtesy of Vancouver-based Shadi and Tonez – more commonly known as DiRTY RADiO. Set for release on May 9, again via Sidekick Music, Axmod continues to carve out his very distinctive signature style, and looks set for big things in 2018.
