America has been described as the land of opportunities by millions of people who made fame and wealth there.

But we’re sure Ed Sheeran was surprised at the kind of support he received from the Northern part of this nation when he took the mathematics tour their way this year.

The globally recognized “Shape of You” singer is currently touring the world for his mathematics tour. Even though he rounded up his performances for this year; Ed is already preparing for the Asians next year with Japan and the United Arab Emirates listed among the cities that will be blessed with his presence.

One of the most intriguing things about Ed’s mathematics tour in 2023 is his visit to North America, where he made up to $145,861,940 while performing 18 shows in 18 different cities located in the US.

Imagine the manpower and energy put into making his travels to these different cities possible and on time, and then having to put up a show amidst the tiredness of frequent change of locations. Nonetheless, Ed did it and the result was superb.

There’s a possibility that Japan might break this record when Ed kicks off the Asian leg of the mathematics tour due to its population. But until then, let’s dive into checking the stats on how Ed made more than a hundred million in the US alone.

Beforehand, don’t forget that you can always get Ed Sheeran tickets from a dependable marketplace known for great customer service.

May – $25,914,812

Ed started his tour in the US on the 6th of May 2023 shortly after leaving Perth, Australia on the 12th of April 2023.

The singer was supposed to host one show in New Orleans, but it didn’t hold due to unforeseen circumstances that left him no option but to go on with the Arlington show that took place in AT&T Stadium.

We did a little bit of digging and discovered that the Arlington show saw a staggering number of close to 60k people, marking his first show in the US, North America. All in all, Ed performed for 4 days in May, spanning across 4 different cities with Arlington inclusive.
After searching and adding up some figures as per the revenue generated from each city, the statistics showed that Ed walked away with $25,914,812 from May alone after performing in the 4 cities mentioned above, located inside the US.

If you think this number is staggering, then perhaps the amount Ed made in June will blow your mind even more.

June – $38,553,050.5

Ed’s June performance started in Philadelphia on the 3rd and as expected, he performed in 4 different cities with East Rutherford enjoying 2 of the 5 performances.

One thing we’ve observed from the income artists make while touring the world is that the number of days you perform in a particular country does not guarantee much income. Rather, a determinant of good income while touring is the number of fans you have in a particular city you’re taking your show to.

This theory has been confirmed by Ed Sheeran as he made $18,007,052 from East Rutherford alone while touring the US in June.

From records, Ed made a total of $38,553,050.5 from performing 5 shows in 4 different cities, located in the US as of June. This means that East Rutherford from the US generated close to 50% of the total income June brought to the table.

Noticeably, this height is strongly connected to the number of fans (173,390) who attended Ed’s show at the MetLife Stadium on the 10th and 11th of June which is even more than half of the total number of fans who attended Ed’s concerts in the whole month of May.

June was indeed favorable for the “Bad Habits” singer. June also holds the record for how much a strong fan base can affect the profit you make while touring.

Up next is the month of July.

July – $6,775,547.5

There was no break for Ed between June and July because his first show in the month was held in the same place the last show of June took place and that is, Foxborough.

July’s Foxborough shared the income it generated for Ed amidst the Mathematics Tour with June. But if we divide the total figure by two, we’ll safely keep July’s Foxborough with $6,775,547.5.

Another critical view of the impact of a strong fan base on profit made while touring can be seen in the case of Foxborough and East Rutherford. Both cities had 2 performances and they surpassed other cities for generated revenue alongside attendees by the end of the month.

Nevertheless, July contributed its fair quota to Ed’s million-dollar 18-day tour. July had a total of 5 performances in the Mathematics Tour and Ed shared these performances across 5 cities in the US with Chicago and Nashville inclusive.

These cities generated a total of $34,007,493.5 by the end of the month with Nissan Stadium and Soldier Field holding more than 73k people respectively.

We see that June’s East Rutherford, US, generated more than half of what July had to offer. August next.

August – $28,339,403

August had 4 show spaces in Ed’s mathematics tour. The income, however, does not support the number of fans present there. Unlike July where we had Soldier Field in Chicago with 73k attendees generating $8,054,888, August had Empower Field, Denver, with 79k attendees, which is the highest gathering of Ed’s fans in August, yet with $8,560,475 generated revenue.

The difference between the two cities in attendees is 6k people, but the difference in revenue generated is just $505,587.

However, August also contributed to the revenue Ed accumulated by the end of his 18 shows amidst the Mathematics tour in the US alone.

Kansas City, Minneapolis, Denver, and Seattle are the 4 cities Ed performed in while touring the world for his Mathematics Tour in August and he made $28,339,403 by the end of the month.

September – $19,047,181

September had just 2 shows in the Mathematics tour. The shows were set far apart from each other with the first one being on the 16th of September, and the second one held on the 23rd of the same month.

Ed visited Santa Clara and Inglewood of the US. and made $9,821,417 and $9,225,764 respectively from both cities.

The attendance at both concerts was also amazing and to an extent, justified the revenue generated.

Levi’s Stadium, Inglewood was occupied by more than 80k people, while SoFi Stadium of Inglewood was occupied by more than 81k people.

Both cities generated revenue of $19,047,181 by the end of the month and although Ed had scheduled a show for October, there’s no information on whether or not the show took place on Sheeran’s official website.

Additionally, note that tickets for the Mathematics tour are not entirely sold for the same price, the revenue generated by individual cities in the US through individual months only shows the dedication of Ed’s fans in individual cities.

And if you add up the figures generated in each month from May to September, you will see that they all sum up to $145,861,940.
