Unconventional Musical Journeys: Contrary to expectations, most top-tier artists lack formal music education. Only 11% of American and 30% of UK top artists received regular training. This reveals a trend towards self-taught methods, with figures like Lil Wayne and John Lennon exemplifying this path.

Gender Disparity in Genres: An analysis of Spotify’s top 1,000 reveals a male-dominated landscape, especially stark in Latin, hip hop, and rap. However, the pop genre exhibits a more balanced gender distribution, though female artists remain underrepresented.
