Brenda Song DoorDashBrenda Song is keeping it all together the best way she knows how, with a whole lot of DoorDash.
The 37-year-old Hollywood actress recently opened up about how tough it is to balance her acting career with being a mom to her two young sons, Dakota and Carson, whom she shares with Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin. And let’s just say, the fast-food delivery app is getting some serious mileage in the Song-Culkin household.
“I lean on DoorDash way too much,” she told E! News, laughing off the fact that juggling back-to-back schedules often leaves little time for cooking. “Especially in the day and age where I’m trying to juggle being a mom and also working and finding the time.”
Even though the Secret Obsession star leans on takeout more than she’d like to admit, Brenda Song is thriving in her role as a mom. She’s all about cherishing the moments with her little ones and says that no amount of time ever feels like enough. “I’m enjoying every minute,” she said. “No matter how much time you spend with your kids, it’ll never be enough.”
The Disney Channel alum also opened up about how quickly her kids are growing up and how fast their interests change. “I feel like every week it’s a new milestone,” she said. “They’re into something one week; the next, they’re into something else. Seeing both my kids playing soccer, I’m just like, “I remember when you were in my belly’.”
Motherhood has also pushed Brenda into some deep reflection. In an earlier interview with Bustle, she revealed how having two pregnancies in the same calendar year made her reevaluate her career and her role in the entertainment industry. “It made me question a lot: my place in this industry, my place as a woman, ageism, society’s pressures of what beauty is, what being young is,” she explained.
Brenda admitted that with her children being the top priority now, she can’t just pack up and shoot a film across the world anymore. “I was like, ‘Does acting still fit in my life?’” she recalled. But in the end, she knows it’s all about balance.
“Family life is the most important thing,” she said, “but I’ve always said to be the best parent, the best partner, I have to be the best me. And a huge part of that is work. I have to be able to honor that.”
So yes, Brenda Song might be hitting the DoorDash button more than most, but she’s also living her most real and balanced life, career, family, and late-night snacks included.
