Cecily Strong Welcomes Her First Baby Girl: “I Won the Lottery”

Cecily Strong is officially a mom, and she’s over the moon. The former Saturday Night Live standout and her fiancé Jack welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on April 2. In true Cecily fashion, the announcement was equal parts hilarious, heartfelt, and totally unfiltered.

Posting on Instagram, the 41-year-old comedian shared a photo of herself sleeping beside her daughter’s bassinet, her dog curled up nearby. “Me and my girls,” she captioned it. “It’s been a week and a day with my beautiful squirmy baby girl.”

Cecily said she instantly recognized her daughter’s movements from when she was still pregnant. “She makes Robert De Niro faces and snorts when she is super determined on the boob,” she wrote. “She’s gonna be stronger than me in about a week.”

The baby arrived with a full head of dark hair, prompting Cecily to shout “Whoo hoo!” during delivery, and, as she put it, she’s been “screaming Whoo hoo every day since” because the baby is “absolutely perfect.”

While she described the birth as “relatively easy” thanks to a “glorious epidural,” Cecily admitted the recovery process hit harder than expected. “It feels like the Muay Thai fighter from White Lotus kicked the crap out of my cooch,” she joked, adding, “I guess I’ll be healing for a while.”

She also thanked her “dream team” at the Alexandra Cohen Hospital, giving shoutouts to her medical team and caregivers. But it was her final tribute to her fiancé that really stole the post.

Calling Jack “the best dad I could ever have imagined,” Cecily listed his super-dad credentials: “diapering, swaddling, bottle washing, tech support, dog cuddling, medicine pickup, breastfeeding support, and feeding me crispy rice from Blue Ribbon Sushi in the hospital.”

She closed with: “I love you ESM,” and a tongue-in-cheek note that she’s been so sleep-deprived, she’s accidentally referred to the pediatrician as “the vet” almost 35 times.

Cecily’s update reminds us why fans love her, she’s raw, real, and knows how to turn even post-birth chaos into comedy gold. Welcome to motherhood, Cecily.
