A bitter feud exploded between former U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk on Thursday, June 5, marking a stunning public fallout between two once-close allies.
The dispute, centered around Trump’s sweeping tax and domestic spending proposal – dubbed his “big, beautiful” bill”, played out in real time across social media and even spilled into the Oval Office.
Tensions first ignited on Tuesday when Musk unexpectedly slammed the bill as a “disgusting abomination,” catching many Republican leaders off guard. By Thursday, the conflict had erupted into a full-blown spectacle, with Musk pulling up years-old Trump posts on spending and debt and openly mocking the administration’s proposals.
