JoJo Siwa Confirms She’s Dating Chris Hughes

JoJo Siwa isn’t dancing around the truth anymore — she and Celebrity Big Brother UK costar Chris Hughes are officially dating. And if her latest interview is anything to go by, it’s not just a rebound or a PR move. It’s real, it’s romantic, and it’s heating up.

In a candid conversation with The Guardian, the 22-year-old performer opened up about the budding relationship that started inside the infamous Big Brother house and kept evolving long after the cameras stopped rolling. “It’s not platonic anymore,” she said bluntly. “I’m absolutely head over heels for him, and he’s the same way.”

Fans had been speculating about the chemistry between the two ever since their televised stint began — especially after the infamous incident with Mickey Rourke, who was ejected from the house after hurling homophobic slurs at Siwa. Hughes, 32, stood by her side, and from that moment on, their bond only grew stronger.

“This is a very genuine connection — we’re not faking a thing,” Siwa insisted. “People can see our chemistry, and they got to see it develop.” For anyone doubting her motives, she’s already moved past the noise. “Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I’ve never been in pain from smiling so much,” she added.

And the couple’s off-screen life? Just as real. Siwa described lying in bed with Hughes, feeling “her truest, rawest self” — something she says she’s never experienced around one single person. The two have been soft-launching their relationship all over Instagram and Snapchat: cuddling, cozy breakfasts, forehead kisses, and even hangouts with Siwa’s parents. Hughes even shared a sweet moment with her dad while gaming, calling him “my boy.”

But this new chapter didn’t come without baggage.

Siwa’s recent ex, Australian actor Kath Ebbs, was still in the picture during the tail end of Big Brother — and wasn’t thrilled about the timeline. Ebbs, who uses they/them pronouns, claimed in a now-deleted TikTok that Siwa broke up with them at the wrap party, while Chris was “in the next room.” It didn’t take long for the internet to run wild with theories and accusations of cheating.

Siwa addressed that head-on during an episode of The Viall Files, hosted by Bachelor alum Nick Viall. “Don’t paint it out to look like I cheated on you with him, because I did not,” she said. “I will nail my feet into the ground, and I will stand on that ground.”

It’s not the first time Siwa’s personal life has been scrutinized. She entered the Big Brother house identifying as a lesbian and dating Ebbs. But over the course of the season, she publicly came out as queer — noting that her understanding of her identity was still evolving. “You can’t help who you love,” she said, acknowledging the criticism she’s received but standing firm.

As for Hughes, the Love Island U.K. alum hasn’t made a huge statement of his own yet, but his social media says plenty. From intimate selfies to sleepy cuddles captioned “sleeepinnn beauty,” it’s clear he’s not hiding anything either.

It’s a whirlwind romance, sure. But one that’s unfolding in full view — and with surprisingly little drama between the two. Despite the ex backlash and online chatter, Siwa says she’s happy. Genuinely happy. And she’s not looking back.
