In one of the most bizarre twists yet in the legal war between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, just suggested holding Lively’s deposition at the MSG!
Yes, the same arena where Taylor Swift sells out shows. “Since Ms. Lively is open to testifying, let’s make it count,” Freedman told PEOPLE, offering a jaw-dropping idea: stream the deposition or sell tickets and donate every dollar to organizations supporting domestic abuse victims.
Blake Lively, 37, and Justin Baldoni, 41, are both set to testify in what’s shaping up to be one of Hollywood’s messiest legal battles. The trial is scheduled for March 2026 and will happen behind closed doors – no cameras allowed. But until then, both sides are trading shots in the media.
Freedman didn’t hold back. Responding to Lively’s confirmation that she will testify, he fired back, “She’s been testifying since the moment she auditioned for this part.” Then added sarcastically, “If she’s suddenly now willing to sit for a deposition, I’m available. How’s tomorrow morning for her?”
Lively’s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, responded that the discovery process will allow everyone to be questioned. “They’ll have an opportunity to ask Ms. Lively questions and take her deposition. Likewise, we will depose the defendants, including Mr. Baldoni,” he said.
Freedman also went after Lively’s public image, saying she’s using her celebrity status and friends to shape the public narrative. “Although obviously uncomfortable for the Lively parties, the truth is not a distraction,” he said. “The truth has been clearly shown through unedited receipts, documents, and real-life footage. More to come.”
He then accused Lively of manipulating Baldoni. “Blake brought her high-profile friends into this situation without concern for their own personal or public backlash. She used her ‘dragons’ to manipulate Justin at every turn.”
The legal battle stems from the 2024 set of It Ends With Us, where Lively claims she was sexually harassed and later retaliated against. In December, she filed a lawsuit. Baldoni denied the allegations and hit back with a $400 million countersuit for defamation and civil extortion, naming Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and others.
Lively’s team moved to dismiss Baldoni’s countersuit, calling it “vengeful.” Baldoni’s legal team clapped back, calling her motion “abhorrent” and insisting she should be held accountable for making false accusations out of “pure malice.”
Gottlieb also slammed what he called a “media circus” by the defense. “This is a case about what happened to Blake Lively when she raised claims of sexual harassment on set,” he said. “It’s not a case about what songs were picked for the movie or Marvel characters in Deadpool.”
And it’s not over yet. Gottlieb hinted that more stories are coming: “There are others who witnessed or experienced misconduct. We expect their accounts – especially about what happened on set – to come out live.”
So, a deposition at Madison Square Garden? That might sound ridiculous, but nothing about this case has been normal. What’s clear is that both sides are gearing up for a brutal courtroom showdown, and they’re not afraid to make it public.
