Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli Separate After Almost 28 Years Together

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are officially going their separate ways after nearly three decades together.

PEOPLE has confirmed that the longtime couple, who share daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli, have separated after almost 28 years of marriage.

According to Loughlin’s representative Elizabeth Much, the two are currently “living apart and taking a break from their marriage,” though no legal proceedings have been initiated at this time.

The news of their separation comes months after the couple listed their Hidden Hills mansion for $16.5 million in February 2025. They had originally purchased the sprawling 11,800-square-foot property in August 2020 for $9.5 million, shortly after becoming entangled in one of the biggest celebrity scandals of the past decade.

In 2019, both Loughlin and Giannulli were implicated in the highly publicized college admissions scandal. The pair pleaded guilty in May 2020 to charges of wire and mail fraud, admitting to paying $500,000 to secure their daughters’ admission to the University of Southern California by falsely presenting them as recruits for the crew team, despite neither having participated in the sport.

Consequences followed swiftly. Loughlin was sentenced to two months in federal prison, while Giannulli received a five-month sentence in August 2020. Loughlin was released in December 2020 after nearly completing her term.

Since then, the Full House alum has gradually rebuilt her acting career. She reprised her role as Abigail Stanton in When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas in December 2021, and went on to star in Fall Into Winter in January 2023 alongside James Tupper. Later that year, she reunited with Tupper and Jesse Hutch for A Christmas Blessing.

In recent years, Loughlin has embraced projects that allowed her to poke fun at herself and move forward. She appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm playing a heightened version of herself, referencing her past legal troubles, and has also guest-starred on Blue Bloods and On Call.

In April 2024, she gave her first major interview since the scandal, speaking with First for Women Magazine. While she didn’t directly address the controversy, she reflected on forgiveness, perseverance, and letting go of negativity. “Stuff happens to everyone. We’ve all been in positions to ask for forgiveness,” she said. “For your own health, you have to let things go because you can’t hang on to negativity. Life’s too short.”

Sharing her philosophy on resilience, Loughlin added: “As an actress, I hear ‘no’ a lot, so I just have to persevere and try not to let in negativity. My advice is to just keep moving forward. Everyone has good times and bad times. That’s life.”

Now, as she and Giannulli take separate paths after nearly 28 years together, it marks a new chapter for both, shaped by lessons of hardship, forgiveness, and perseverance.
