Nick Carter Hit With Fourth Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter has been accused, again. But this time, the allegations go even deeper.

A fourth woman has come forward, filing a new lawsuit against the 45-year-old pop icon, claiming he sexually assaulted her, passed on multiple STDs, and directly contributed to her eventual Stage 2 cervical cancer diagnosis. The woman, identified as Laura Penly, says she was just 19 when the alleged assaults began.

According to legal documents obtained by People, Penly and Carter had a “sexually intimate relationship” between December 2004 and February 2005. While she admits to initial consensual encounters, she says the situation escalated dangerously when Carter allegedly refused to wear protection, claiming he was “clean” of any STDs.

But what followed, according to the lawsuit, was anything but clean.

Penly accuses Carter of ignoring her repeated “no’s” and forcing himself on her in his Hollywood apartment. She says he pressured her into silence, warning her that no one would believe her. Weeks later, she alleges a second assault took place, followed by a horrifying diagnosis.

By mid-2005, Penly had tested positive for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and most critically, HPV, a virus linked to cervical cancer. By August, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 cervical cancer, undergoing intensive treatments that, according to the filing, caused “severe emotional distress, physical anguish, and complex trauma.”

The lawsuit claims Nick Carter acted with “willful and conscious disregard” for her safety. Penly is seeking damages in excess of $15,000 and has requested a jury trial.

Carter’s legal team is firing back hard. In a statement, his attorneys called the suit “more of the same nonsense” from what they described as a “gang of conspirators” with a grudge. They claim Carter doesn’t even remember meeting Penly and has “never had any romantic or sexual relationship with her. Ever.”

This marks the fourth public sexual assault allegation against Carter in recent years. And like clockwork, the accusation arrives while he continues to promote new projects and tour with the Backstreet Boys.

No criminal charges have been filed yet, and Carter continues to deny all allegations. But with four women now accusing him, the pressure is mounting, and the public isn’t looking away this time.
