Gracie McGraw, the eldest daughter of country music power couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, just made a bold and beautiful statement during Pride Month.
The 28-year-old shared her truth with fans by proudly coming out as queer in a series of Instagram Stories on June 2, writing, “Happy Freaking Pride. I love being queer.” It’s the first time Gracie has publicly spoken about her sexuality, and she did it with the kind of confidence and joy that makes her all the more inspiring.
In the post, Gracie also shared a celebratory graphic that read “Everyone get more gay now!!!!” and followed it up with a powerful reminder about Pride’s roots: “Pride began as a riot led by Black & Brown trans activists.” It’s clear she’s not just here to wave the flag-she’s here to own her identity and honor the movement’s history while doing so.
Neither Tim McGraw nor Faith Hill has publicly commented on Gracie’s coming out, but both have long been allies of the LGBTQ+ community. Hill notably supported singer Chely Wright when she came out back in 2010. McGraw, too, has always spoken about his daughters with immense pride and love. Just last month, on Gracie’s birthday, he posted a heartfelt message saying, “You are a light in this world, my sweet girl. So much heart, soul, respect, and yes, LOADS of talent!!!” He added, “I love you, my little girl-Dad.”

Gracie has been making her own name in the arts. In April, she hit a major milestone by performing in The Great War & The Great Gatsby at Carnegie Hall-and yes, her superstar parents were right there in the audience cheering her on. This isn’t her first time in the spotlight either. Tim McGraw previously told PEOPLE how proud he was of Gracie, calling her “a strong, independent young lady who speaks her mind.” He gushed over her talent and said he was amazed by how she lives her life unapologetically.
Gracie’s coming out is more than just a post-it’s a moment that reflects her journey, her confidence, and her truth. And she’s not here for the spotlight; she’s here for authenticity. While growing up in one of country music’s most high-profile families could’ve made her hide parts of herself, Gracie is proving she has no interest in dimming her light.
She’s the oldest of McGraw and Hill’s three daughters. Her sisters, Maggie and Audrey, are 26 and 23, respectively. The family has always kept a close-knit vibe, with both parents frequently posting supportive and loving messages about their girls’ careers and personal milestones. Gracie’s latest announcement is another chapter in a life she’s determined to live out loud.
As Pride Month celebrations continue across the country, Gracie’s post adds another powerful voice to the mix. She didn’t just reveal a label-she declared joy. And in 2025, that joy matters more than ever.
