Zoe Kravitz is expanding her creative footprint behind the camera, and she’s bringing Robert Pattinson along for the ride.
Kravitz is reportedly in early talks to direct How to Save a Marriage, her second feature as a filmmaker following her debut, Blink Twice. The film is currently in development at Sony Pictures and will be produced by Pattinson through his Icki Eneo Arlo production banner, signaling a reunion for the two The Batman co-stars.
The 36-year-old actress made her directorial debut with Blink Twice, a psychological thriller starring Naomi Ackie and Channing Tatum. The project, initially titled Pussy Island, premiered to mixed but curious buzz on the festival circuit, marking Kravitz as a bold and genre-savvy filmmaker.
Sony’s decision to back her second directorial effort suggests growing confidence in Kravitz’s abilities behind the lens. How to Save a Marriage is still under wraps in terms of plot, but it’s been confirmed that the script is penned by screenwriter Ross Evans, who will also serve as an executive producer.
Robert Pattinson’s involvement is notable not just as a returning collaborator, but as a producer. His Icki Eneo Arlo label, founded with producing partner Brighton McCloskey, has been expanding its footprint in Hollywood. The team will produce the film alongside Geoff Shaevitz and Evan Silverberg of Entertainment 360.
Pattinson, 38, has been active in both performance and production, with upcoming appearances in Mickey 17 and The Batman: Part II. Speaking to Hero magazine recently, Pattinson acknowledged the long gap between his Batman films with a mix of humor and concern.
“I started out as young Batman and I’m going to be old Batman by the sequel,” he said. “I’m 38, I’m old. I’m old, but I’m healthier. I think I’ve actually brought my biological age down a bit.”
While The Batman: Part II is still on track, though delayed to 2027, this new project gives fans of Kravitz and Pattinson a reunion to look forward to in the near term. The first Batman film (2022) was critically acclaimed and a commercial success, grossing over $770 million worldwide. Both Kravitz’s Catwoman and Pattinson’s Batman received praise for their performances and chemistry.
Their upcoming DC sequel is expected to include returning cast members Colin Farrell (Penguin), Andy Serkis (Alfred), and Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), with Matt Reeves back in the director’s chair.
The Zoe Kravitz – Robert Pattinson collaboration signals several key trends in Hollywood:
- A growing emphasis on actor-director hybrids, particularly women stepping into filmmaking roles.
- A renewed focus on actor-driven production companies influencing major studio projects.
- Long-form collaborations that extend beyond franchises, suggesting deeper creative partnerships.
With production timelines still to be announced and The Batman: Part II pushed back to 2027, How to Save a Marriage may hit theaters sooner, depending on development and casting. Given the high-profile names and the creative team attached, the film is already generating buzz across both indie and mainstream film circles.
No official release date or additional casting details have been confirmed.
