Erkki. R is an Estonian born producer, who is now based in Finland with a young family.
He has found recent success on the Swanky Tunes label – ShowLand, and now has a debut on Somn’thing Records with new lush sounds on ‘Your Love’.
T.H.E – How old are you, where are you living and how long have you been producing and DJing?
Erkki. R – Hey! I´m so old that I don’t even remember – hehe (37), I have been producing with ups and downs for almost 10 years, but my final breakthrough came last year when I signed a track to ShowLand (Armada). I live in Finland and I love it here!
T.H.E – What advice would you give to any budding producer?
Erkki. R – Keep pushing until you get what you deserve!
T.H.E – Talk to us about your latest release ‘Your Love’ and the inspiration behind it.
Erkki. R – Inspiration for that track came from my new life partner, wife, soulmate who I met over a year ago. She has supported me in every step.
T.H.E – What’s the music scene like in Finland and Estonia (your native country)?
Erkki. R – I am not too sure about the music in Finland, I’m really not sure. To be honest, I don’t even listen to radio that much. Spotify is like the radio here. Same goes for Estonia where I was born. I think, it is more popish stuff over there!
T.H.E – Which other DJs or producers are you feeling right now?
Erkki. R – The two artists I am really vibing from at the moment are Kygo and Andrew Rayel. They both are so amazingly talented artists.

Erkki. R – My DJ setup, it’s nothing fancy – DDJ-SX2 and some headphones.
T.H.E – What’s been your biggest musical or otherwise achievement to date?
Erkki. R – My last release for Armada under their Showland label/imprint was a big milestone for me!
T.H.E – What can we expect from Erkki.R soon?
Erkki. R – I have lots of new songs coming up, and some collaborations on the way. I will keep all you posted. Peace.
