Swedish-born brothers Jacob and Victor Andersson – alias ManyFew – are no strangers to creating energetic, lush tunes. With over 3 million streams on Spotify alone, ManyFew is proving to be one of dance music’s most promising acts.

We caught up with Victor and Jacob and spoke to them about a whole host of topics including the story behind their artist name, and their inspirations while growing up in Stockholm, Sweden.

T.H.E – Hey guys! How are you spending the summer?

ManyFew – Hey T.H.E – Music Essentials! We’re spending most of the summer in our summerhouse in the southern part of Sweden on the island Öland. We have brought our portable studio with us and have been working a lot in the studio this summer. While taking a break we love to go to the beach. In the last week of August, we’re going to New York City, for interviews and a live set.

T.H.E – Let’s talk about your name first. It’s an interesting combination of two words which are essentially opposites! What is the significance behind it?

ManyFew – ManyFew is a name we came up with while we produced a couple of mainstream songs. We decided to release music with a new alias and we were looking for a word that would be cool to shout out! We thought it would be nice to have two opposite words in just one word and felt that ManyFew could be a cool one :-)

T.H.E – Growing up in Stockholm, which artists inspired you to become producers?

ManyFew – That’s a good question; a wide range of music producers have inspired us. When we were younger, we listened a lot to of pop music and bands like Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC. We really liked the sound from the Cherion Studio era including producers like Denniz POP, Max Martin, and Jörgen Elofsson. Also, producers like StoneBridge, Antiloop and Axwell and Swedish House Mafia have inspired us!

T.H.E – You have received some tremendous success with your recent singles, with ‘Where To Go’ – peaking at #10 in the Music Week Upfront Club Charts and ‘How Would You Know’ – entering the Upfront Club Charts at #42. What is the thought process you usually deploy while sitting in the studio?

ManyFew – We love to be in the studio and play around with different sounds. We don’t put any pressure on ourselves in the studio and we don’t go in there just because we have to if you do that it can destroy a lot of creativity we think. For us being in the studio is only fun and we’re dancing a lot while producing!!

T.H.E – Are there any upcoming singles we should know about?

ManyFew – Yes! Actually, we have recently released a brand new single. It’s our most disco sounding record so far called ‘Ibiza’. Twiggy is on vocals and we produced the track in London just before this summer.

T.H.E – Time for some fun ones. What would a world populated by clones of you be like?

ManyFew –

Victor: A lot of music everywhere 24/7, especially electronic dance music. A world with lots of adventures and fun!

Jacob: A world full of music and lots of fun and an optimistic view of life! Public dance floors in every single park where people can dance whenever they want to. Also, discotheque’s everywhere and lots of sports activities.

T.H.E – What invention doesn’t get a lot of love, but has greatly improved the world?

Victor: The jet engine!

Jacob: The roads! Without it, none of the infrastructures for modern cities would exist…

T.H.E – What are your most important rules when going on a date?

ManyFew –

Victor: Have fun!

Jacob: Be yourself!

T.H.E – What’s something people don’t worry about but really should?

ManyFew –

Victor: Their health

Jacob: Cyberattacks
