German producer liquidfive follows up a string of recent releases with his new cut, ‘Alive’ ft. LA-based OMZ.
‘Alive’ is the uplifting new single from liquidfive – combining upfront kicks, elevating synths & OMZ’s unmistakable vocals.
The song itself tells a touching story of the light returning, after losing hope in darker days. Paying homage to that special person who stays by your side and eventually brings you back to life. A theme that’s beautifully portrayed in the video.
We spoke to liquidfive about ‘Alive’ and how he decided to become a DJ/producer.
T.H.E – Hey Martin! Welcome to T.H.E – Music Essentials. Firstly, congrats on your new single ‘Alive’. Could you tell us about the significance/meaning behind your moniker – liquidfive?
Liquidfive – In 2011 I founded a band project called liquidfive, with 5 band members. Following a string of releases, I realised that my heart was only in Dance/Pop music and so I decided to become a DJ/Producer. After that the band was history, but I kept the name.
T.H.E – How long had ‘Alive’ been in planning, before the promotion began?
Liquidfive – Everything happened very fast. The decision for the song to come out had just been made, 4 weeks before the release. It was very freaky.
T.H.E – In terms of your production, what would you say is your signature sound?
Liquidfive – To describe your own sound is always difficult. Alive relies on strong, remarkable vocals in connection with progressive and danceable beats.
T.H.E – How was it working with OMZ & how did the collaboration come about?
Liquidfive – It came about through the management. OMZ is a thoroughbred musician and we were on the same wavelength every step of the way. It was fun from the first day and it certainly won’t be the last song with him.
T.H.E – Are you planning on any additional remixes?
Liquidfive – Yes, I am planning additional remixes with other artists. Let´s see what happens.
The single is signed to your own label, 5L Records. How has running the label been so far & what styles/sounds does it represent?
Liquidfive – The label is doing better with every song. The 5L-Records ethos is danceable Electro Pop music in collaboration with young or even established artists.
T.H.E – Are there any upcoming projects from artists on the 5L roster, that we should be looking out for?
Liquidfive – Sure, of course. There will be a lot of new good music. I can’t reveal anything to you just yet.
T.H.E – Lastly, what can you tell us about your plans for 2019, in terms of touring and further releases?
Liquidfive – In 2019 I’m planning 8 releases, which means there are 7 more to come. This is going to be a very exciting time and I hope that I can positively surprise you with my music. There will also be performances at festivals etc. I can’t wait any longer.
