Sol Selectas drops a new release from up-and-coming trio ARKADYAN who are making waves in the Afro house community.
ARKADYAN’s latest release features a solo original alongside two remixes by Safar (FR) and Manoo. The original track titled ‘Tulila’ has a Moroccan influence with its mix of live instruments and moody synth pad that’s layered with organic percussion.
Complimenting the original are remixes by Safar (FR) who’s another up-and-coming talent who has already showcased himself via one of the label’s compilation releases. The fact he is returning to do a remix suggests that there might also be a solo EP in the pipeline.
Manoo is an accomplished stalwart who’s been releasing music since 2004 and in that time period he has racked up releases on labels such as Innervisions.
The remix by Safar (FR) is quite similar to the original, but swaps some of the percussion for a new conga loop and alters the structure to make it even more DJ friendly. Manoo’s remix finishes the release, as his version adds some old school flavour with a subtle acid line and uses a steel drum sound that draws focus to the percussion.
All versions are great and people will no doubt pick their favourite depending on the twist that best matches their personal preferences.
