Amsterdam Music Festival

About 3 days back, fans at Amsterdam Music Festival were blessed by a star-studded back to back ‘II = I’ (Two Is One) performance by Dutch trance legend, Armin van Buuren & Dutch Electro House king, Hardwell.

This set followed the announcement of DJ Mag Top 100 rankings, which saw Martin Garrix retain his crown at the #1 spot.

After the announcement and handing over of the awards, the stage was all set for the Dutch producers to take over. Both producers have been former DJ Mag #1 winners on multiple occasions and this was the first time that the heavyweights were going to perform a B2B set. The spectacular show was planned to mark the 5th Anniversary of Amsterdam Music Festival.

The house-full venue at Amsterdam presented an unmatchable zippy ambience as the ‘Two Is One Intro Edit’ kick started the set. While the setup and visuals were on point with the glowing orange colours, the 2 DJs got ready to set the stage on fire. They dropped Willem De Roo’s Remix of Andrew Rayels’ ‘Dark Warrior’ to warm up the crowd. After which they got the crowd singing to Umet Ozcan’s remix of Axwell Λ Ingrosso’s ‘More Than You Know’.

As time passed, their performance kept getting better and, the Dutch legends had arrived with the intention of not letting fans settle for anything less than an unforgettable power-packed night. This B2B set was a retreat for Big Room lovers. The 1-hour long (rather short) set packed everything from their popular tracks to nostalgic tracks to brilliant mashups, not leaving out anything. They dropped their own popular tracks such as Ping Pong, Sally, Another You, Apollo, Another You, Spaceman, Jumper, Sunny Days, You Are and many more.

They also took us on a nostalgic ride by dropping Guru Josh Projects’s ‘Infinity’ and Safari Duo’s ‘Played A Live (NWYR Remix)’. “This is a State of EDM”, exclaimed Hardwell as Armin laughed, right before they dropped the latter track.

As the clock headed closer to the hour mark, the celebrity DJs decided to close their ‘Two Is One’ set by dropping a vivacious mashup of ‘Great Spirit v/s Power’.

This is one set that will go into the history books and that fans will always look back to. We were lucky enough to be in Amsterdam to catch this set live. For those who missed out, don’t worry you can relive the complete set below:
