Asian-American dance duo ARMNHMR today join forces with alt-pop songstress Lights on Monstercat Instinct delivering “Someone To Forget.”

The record arrives as the second single from ARMNHMR’s forthcoming album, ‘Together As One,’ out later this year. Leading the track with a heart-tugging ballad touching on temporary love, Lights conveys raw emotion while putting her stunning vocals on full display. ARMNHMR’s signature melodic bass sound fused with live instruments illustrates the poignant storyline, also highlighting their ability to leave an impactful mark on listeners through musical storytelling. Currently, ARMNHMR are on their ‘Together As One’ headline run, bringing an enhanced live experience to fans with production bigger than ever before. Upcoming stops include Denver, Boston, Toronto, and festivals EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, and more.

ARMNHMR shares, “‘Someone To Forget’ deals with loss of love. We all come to terms with grief in different ways. This song in particular is a story of how one person has through temporary people.”

Lights adds, “The track ARMNHMR sent over was so melodic and pretty. I really got a chance to let my emo poetry skills shine. I really like how they’ve brought live instrumentation into this one, with the guitars and live drums—it really suits the topline.”

Directed by Mary Chen, the “Someone To Forget” music video reflects the feelings of loneliness that are created through memories of repetitive, short-lived relationships. With stunning cinematography from Zachary Koski, the essence of the video’s narrative showcases moments cycling through repeating histories with different people.

Following ARMNHMR’s previous release, “Drowning (feat. Heleen),” the new record adds to their upcoming album’s theme of the human experience. The LP will introduce new narratives from the duo, as the tracks reflect on topics including anxiety, grief, and more. ARMNHMR are on a roll this year, coming off hot performances from their headline album run, ‘Together As One,’ that has already sold over 17,000 tickets. They’ve brought bigger production and new music live to venues including Observatory Festival Grounds, Concourse Project, The Factory in Deep Ellum, and more, with plenty of stops to come. Tickets are available here.

Returning after her last Monstercat release, “Last Summer” with Tokyo Machine and Weird Genius, Lights showcases her lauded vocals that have positioned her as an iconic force. Collaborating with huge names including Travis Barker, Kaskade, Illenium, and others, she’s also won four Juno Awards. Fans can catch her live as she headlines Pride Toronto on June 25th, and opens for Waterparks in Australia this fall.
