Bass music producer and sound design wizard Au5 releases a surprise two track release as the third and final album single off his debut Ophelia album ‘Bridges Between’.
It features the epic melodic dubstep collab “Waiting” with duo Crystal Skies making their return to the label. “Paradise” is the four-on-the-floor, electro-infused B side with producer Derpcat and singer/songwriter HA!L.
Au5 has been an undeniably influential force in electronic bass music for over a decade. Au5 (pronounced A-U-Five) is the solo project of Austin Collins – presenting a highly matured balance between intellectual, emotional, and danceable music. From hard hitting technical dubstep, uplifting melodic trance, experimental ambient, and everything in between, Au5 knows no boundaries for passionate musical exploration and expression. Classically trained since age 4 and producing and performing since 13, Austin is a well rounded musician, artist, and educator. He strives to better the world through inspiration – opening minds to what is possible not only within music but within ourselves. From his debut album ‘Minimality’ in 2010 to now, Au5 has been consistent in quality and authenticity with a repertoire of nearly 200 released songs – many with multiple millions of plays. He’s collaborated with legends BT, Tritonal, Slander, Mr. Bill,
toured with acts such as Infected Mushroom, Liquid Stranger, Seven Lions, and has music released on numerous labels like Monstercat, Armada, Ophelia, Enhanced, and Wakaan to name a few. “If you’re looking for trendy music, turn away. If you’re looking to embark on a journey, come with me.”
Known for their melodic bass-driven tracks like ‘Never Change’ and ‘Wait,’ Crystal Skies is an American EDM duo who’ve developed a unique dubstep sound that resonates emotionally with listeners. Louisiana-native Britian Holcomb and Aaron Dawson of Philadelphia began producing dubstep music on their own. After testing solo careers, the pair, long admirers of each other, decided to work together. A few
exchanges later, it was obvious there was magic between the two. And ‘Paradise Lost’, their first collaboration, was born. Known for its stunning piano introduction, soothing melodies, and impressive vocals by Abigail, ‘Paradise Lost’ became an immediate success within the Soundcloud community. The two quickly realized the chemistry they had working together, and founded Crystal Skies. Since their
formation, they’ve amassed over 41 million plays on Spotify, 4.8 million plays on Soundcloud, and 25 million views on Youtube. On top of raw talent, these guys possess an unrelenting work ethic and desire to create new music, which culminated in the release of their Constellations EP in 2019, followed by their Collide EP on the Ophelia label. Crystal Skies soon gained notoriety collaborating with Seven Lions, Mitis, and Jason Ross and remixing Above & Beyond, Illenium, Slander, and Dabin,.
Amassing a total of over 10 million Streams, the fast-rising Israeli Melodic Bass talent Derpcat first garnered attention within the Geometry Dash music community, with his standout tracks “Something Different” and “Sonorous” being featured prominently in popular gameplay levels. Since his successful collaborative release “Only You” on NCS, Derpcat has firmly established himself as an exciting new voice
in melodic electronic bass music. His productions blend pulsating synth melodies and thunderous basslines to deliver an electrifying listening experience. According to the artist, the alias Derpcat represents his forward-thinking approach to music production and willingness to defy expectations. “The name implies looking beyond superficial impressions, thinking outside the box, and always striving to find deeper meaning ,” Derpcat explains. With his fresh perspective and boundary-pushing sound, Derpcat is set to bring his unique artistic vision to the forefront of the Melodic Bass scene.
