Biscits dishes out his latest single for Insomniac Records arriving in the shape of “Locco,” a zestful tech house affair built around an irresistible Latin flair.
Luke Jones is a Southampton native known for churning out an endless supply of savory chart-toppers under his beloved Biscits alias. Over the last few years, he’s kept the temperature roaring at a constant through multiple appearances on the Insomniac catalog. For his first offering from 2022, the unstoppable groove maestro kneads in a special blend of Latin persuasion into what has all the right ingredients to become an instant club favorite.
From the onset, “Locco” takes its cues from sun-kissed climes through a flavorsome concoction composed of crisp claps, steady shakers, warm nylon-string guitar strums, and a looped Spanish refrain that is steeped in overt intimacy.
Once its seductive charm pushes past the threshold, an eruption of buoyant basslines and naughty horn riffs proceed to hit the sweet spot atop a bed of snappy percussive patterns. With an exotic vibrancy sitting at the heart of this certifiable hip-mover, Biscits has shown he’s nailed down the recipe for all manner of delectable dancefloor-focused records.
Biscits speaks on how the track came together: “I was hunting for cool samples and found this Latin esc vocal which sounded super different! I ended up building the record around that.”
The new single follows his most recent appearance on Insomniac’s imprint from last year’s flip of SIDEPIECE’s “Acrobatic,” which pulled off a routine powered by a limber combination of sleazy horn riffs and a tough tech house bounce. Months before, the UK phenom wiggled his way around a slinky, club-pleasing standalone single, “The Worm.”
He’s become a regular fixture on the label’s release calendar while also holding a host of dates on the festival side. His wizardry behind the decks is always a spectacle that shouldn’t be missed. Within the next few months, the groove specialist will be gracing stages at EDC Mexico and Beyond Wonderland SoCal. Between his pumping records and his sweat-inducing live performances, there’s always room for more Biscits.
