Genre-bending producer Blanke releases vulnerable melodic bass record, “Crashing Hard” with singer-songwriter Casey Cook, the first single from upcoming debut Monstercat EP, ‘Emergence,’ due next year.

“Crashing Hard” follows Blanke’s Monstercat debut with “Used To Losing You,” a collaboration with helloworld, Luma, and JT Roach, and “Talk To You (feat. Sofia Quinn).” This newest installment is a return to his anthemic-melodic side. “Crashing Hard” captivates listeners with Blanke’s cathartic melodies illustrating an emotional tale paired with Casey Cook’s heartfelt vocals. Straight away, the therapeutic chords unravel sensations of newfound happiness while Casey reflects upon her unparalleled emotional depths in a tumultuous period navigating through a backdrop of poignant news, woven with the exhilaration of new love.

Blanke shares, “Casey and I have been meaning to work together for a long time. She’s an incredible vocalist and we have worked on similar projects and songs before but never one directly with each other. When she came to me with the idea of the song I jumped on it straight away and was blown away by the messaging and the emotion emitted. It was easy to work together and flowed so effortlessly.”

Casey Cook adds, “I wrote “Crashing Hard” near the end of 2021 in probably one of the most defining moments of my life; finding out my dad’s terminal cancer gave him weeks to months to live, and meeting my soulmate, all at once. My heart was torn in two and it was extremely challenging trying to navigate these new contrasting emotions of sadness in losing someone so close, mixed with happiness in finding someone new to be close to. My piano became my therapist. I cried my eyes out playing whatever I felt in the moment, and the song sort of wrote itself. I called my friend/co-writer Britt (Luma) who helped me channel some more thoughts and we finished the song in like 30 minutes. The day before I flew home to be with my family, I recorded a rough demo. Two years later those raw demo vocals are the same ones you’ll hear on the final version, because the pain in the delivery could never be replicated.”

Blanke consistently redefines the essence of bass music. From crafting melodic bass bangers to starting his drum and bass project, ÆON:MODE, he has established himself as a beacon of inspiration that shows producers they can do anything that they put their mind to. The Denver-based bass mogul has played to sold-out crowds across the globe at iconic venues and festivals such as Lollapalooza Chicago and Paris, EDC Las Vegas, Red Rocks, Rampage Open Air, HARD Summer, Lost Lands (where he held two sets this year), Monstercat’s ADE Showcase, and plenty more. While he opens for heavyweights like Zeds Dead and Subtronics, Blanke continuously heads on headline runs that have taken him to a sold-out show at Exchange in Los Angeles, Webster Hall in New York City, WARP in Tokyo, and more.

Multi-faceted artist Casey Cook’s otherworldly vocals have dominated the electronic dance music scene, having worked with Bishu on the Monstercat hit “Solid Ground,” Wooli, BKAYE, SABAI, and more. Her skillsets rise beyond her vocals, with writing credits behind tracks from Tritonal, William Black, Markus Schulz, and others. Cook extends her talents to the big screen, landing roles on major film and television shows. She also had the opportunity to collaborate with Grammy-nominated Ester Dean as a finalist on NBC’s hit songwriting competition, Songland.

Fans can hear “Crashing Hard” from Blanke live at his upcoming stops including Home Bass Festival, Apocalypse Festival, Ember Shores, and Wildlands Festival. If one thing is certain, this isn’t the last time you’ll hear from Blanke on Monstercat, as his debut-label EP, ‘Emergence,’ is set to arrive in 2024.

Debuting at multiple shows/festivals this year, including EDC Las Vegas, The Midway in San Francisco, and Showbox in Seattle, Casey Cook is excited to perform at more events, allowing her fans to enjoy her angelic voice live.
