On recent release “Water Elemental,” Chime united with Sharks for a striking fusion of colour bass and liquid sound design.
Now, the UK producer and DJ joins forces with fellow video game aficionado MDK for pixelated single “Arcade Dwellers,” out December 3rd via NoCopyrightSounds.
“Arcade Dwellers” journeys computerized soundscapes with nostalgic 8-bit tones, sizzling percussion, and buoyant synth work. A scintillating display of digitized sound, “Arcade Dwellers” combines the electrifying caliber of both artists for one supercharged electro house anthem.
As the tune oscillates between lively mechanical trills and animated breakdowns, Chime and MDK curate an immersive listening experience reminiscent of classic arcade soundtracks.
Heavily influenced by the tunes of his favorite video games, MDK (Morgan David King) is an electronic music producer based in Vancouver, Canada. With a distinct style his fans have coined as “wubstep,” MDK’s iconic blend of chiptune and bass music has been featured in multiple video games like “Need for Speed: Payback” and “Geometry Dash.” A jack of all trades, MDK has assisted on various media projects with AAA companies such as EA Sports, Riot Games, and Image-Line/FL Studio.
“As a fellow video-game-lover that also takes a great deal of inspiration from that world, MDK was a great producer to create a really fun, arcade-themed track with. I’m particularly happy with the world-building moments we built into the tune. Our characters take a break during the breakdown to sip on drinks and take a bite of a few snacks (complete with 8-bit “replenishing” / power up sounds) before diving back into the game. The door of the arcade also slams shut at the very end of the track to create a satisfying conclusion to the scene.” – Chime
As Chime gears up for 2022, the UK producer and DJ continues to shatter expectations with “Arcade Dwellers.” Joining tonality with his innovative artillery of sound, Chime is spearheading an exciting evolution of contemporary bass music with every release.
