Curbi is back on everyone’s radar today as he returns to Monstercat Instinct with house record, “Kill The Lights (feat. Sarah de Warren).”

With hit singles under his belt including his most recent Monstercat release “Quick Highs (feat. Helen),” Curbi continues to defy genre boundaries with his eclectic soundscapes winning over electronic music enthusiasts and beyond. Last year, he took to stages across the globe including Tomorrowland, Parookaville, and a packed out LAVO in New York City to name a few, released collaborations with Mike Cervello, Mesto, and delivered an official remix for PEEKABOO. With 3.7M new listeners and 68M streams on Spotify alone last year, 2024 is bound to bring him even further.

In the fresh stages of his career, Curbi primarily crafted energetic club cuts. As he evolves on his musical journey, there has been a significant emotive transformation in his sound. Through the creative process on the new single, Curbi experimented with alternative tools and DAWs, adding an innovative layer to his artistry. “Kill The Lights” symbolizes this evolution, as he laid the foundation with a dark, sensual vibe reminiscent of a Berlin atmosphere. Sarah’s stunning vocals take listeners through the aftermath of heartbreak, serving as a confession of the inability to move on. She expresses the notion that at times, sometimes the only escape from a dark emotional place is going to a different dark environment. Illustrating Sarah’s journey through Curbi’s emotional sounds, “Kill The Lights” ensures that listeners will be captivated in depths of raw feelings.

Curbi shares, “This song is a journey through emotion, a soundscape of feelings which people should be able to connect to. I initially sent this idea to Sarah when it was a longer instrumental but, once she had sent the vocal, I wanted to shine a light into it as a proper song.”

Sarah de Warren adds, “I’ve loved so many of Curbi’s records so it’s been a real honour working with him. When he sent me this track it immediately inspired me to write something honest and emotional. His production on this is super unique as usual!! Can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

Tomorrow, fans can hear “Kill The Lights” live as Curbi plays at Proton The Club in Stuttgart, Germany. In February, he’ll grace the decks at Bootshaus, followed by his very own ‘Seeing Is Believing’ event on March 30th at Melkweg, and Ubbi Dubbi Festival debut in May.

Working with the likes of Kaskade, Eli Brown, Gareth Emery, Excision, BEAUZ (“IRL”), and Weird Genius (Sugar”) to name a few, singer-songwriter Sarah de Warren has been taking over the dance circuit with her star-studded vocals. Fans can stay tuned for more hits to come from Sarah as she is consistently writing and working in the studio.
