Gospel-house favorites Dames Brown unite with Detroit techno pioneer Eddie Fowlkes for an unmissable Defected collaboration, ‘Do It.’
Following recent anthems ‘Glory’ with Waajeed and ‘Sweat’ with Melvo Baptiste, the Dames are reaching new heights as they further their relationship with the London label. Similarly, the Godfather of Techno Soul, Eddie Fowlkes, continues to innovate with genre-defying releases like the four-track ‘AHYEE EP’ on Classic Music Company, asserting his position as an industry titan.
The two artist’s styles come together for ‘Do It,’ an unabashed outing of house excellence; Fowlkes’ unmatched talent for vocal manipulation is on full display, as the Dames’ infectious personality and feel-good-spirit are brought to the fore at every turn supported by an instantly arresting beat built for the underground.
The release includes a fantastical remix from multi-disciplinary artist Zach Witness. The Dallas-born and Paris-based artist has made a name for himself through his offbeat, homegrown style, producing Erykah Badu’s album and working with André 3000, Frank Ocean, and Nile Rodgers; now he lends his unique and bombastic vision to ‘Do It,’ in true ZachWitness style.
