Di recently took her political and personal passions and poured them into her most personal, thoughtful and provocative song yet – Fake News.
Fake News is much more than an eerie, atmospheric song with a beat that transports you to an ethereal dance floor in your mind. It is the elusive Di’s response to the times in which we’re living.
And to further continue her response, Di puts together her smorgasbord playlist of tracks which thematically deal with misinformation, facades and delusions – the holy trinity of Fake News. Some of the songs are underlined by an undercurrent of fear and alienation which, ironically are often the catalysts and by-products of Fake News. She felt obliged to include a raucous heavy metal track on Trump by the Mexican band Brujeria along with the plastic-fantastic ‘Barbie Girl’. The playlist finale goes to her all time favourite, David Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars?’ which actually seems like the best destination to escape all the Fake News.
