In these days of lockdowns and quarantines, one of the people who is certainly not willing to be out of sight out of mind is the genre-defying DJ and Producer, Diplo.
In addition to his many cross-genre collaborative aliases, one of the more recent ones has been Thomas Wesley. For this country influenced alias, Diplo went with his real name as he explores and releases under his take on country music. His first single under Diplo presents Thomas Wesley featured Cam and was called “So Long.” For the next track under the project, he collaborated with American country music singer and songwriter, Morgan Wallen on “Heartless.”
After his first shot at a country moniker and digging deeper, Diplo also made a remix of the viral Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus mega-hit “Old Town Road” which was as genre-defying a single as it gets. The track which went on to become one of the longest-running number-one songs in history also saw a memorable live performance at the 2020 Grammy’s where Diplo joined the gang on stage playing the banjo.
Needless to say, Diplo is set to take his Thomas Wesley alias to the next level. With Heartless going double platinum, crossing 100 million plays on Spotify and more, Diplo took to social media to celebrate and also confirm a new single, as well as a new album, is on the way soon.
