Having released their first single ten years ago on Silk Music, Los Angeles-based trance duo Elevven (Shahin and Swapneel) made their Monstercat debut today with the uplifting new single, “Vivi.”
Inspired by their tight-knit community that especially came together during the pandemic, “Vivi” was written as a tribute to them for their continued support and dedication. As a successor to Shahin’s “Mimi,” the track’s bright synth leads, deep piano chords, and warm atmospheric pads instill feelings of nostalgia, reminding listeners of Elevven’s melodic progressive roots.
After debuting “Vivi” at their first post-pandemic sold-out show at Public Works, the duo will return to San Francisco at the TranceFamilySF Festival on October 2, where fans and listeners alike can hear their new music live.
Elevven shares, “The song title was initially suggested by a member of our community, with “Vivi” being a reference to the Elevven follow-up to Shahin’s “Mimi,” as well as a play on the VV in our name. We could not think of a better way to celebrate and pay tribute to our incredible family that has kept us sane over the past year. They’ve joined us in our streams, at our live events, during our Monstercat Silk Sessions, and now they’ve named one of our records. This one is for them. A huge thank you to Monstercat and Silk Music – or should we say – Monstercat Silk!”
Establishing their own weekly residency on Monstercat’s Silk Sessions live stream series, Elevven has quickly built a massive following on Twitch. In celebration of their community and this full-circle moment, Elevven will perform a special two-hour live set on Monstercat Silk Showcase today at 11 AM PST via Monstercat’s Twitch channel.
