Sweden’s mysterious masked producer F.O.O.L returned to Monstercat today, teaming up with French bass producer Extra Terra for their debut collaborative single, “AGONIZE.”
Both artists’ cinematic tendencies are on full display as the deep basses, orchestral choir, and powerful braams paint a dystopian future void of light. A testament to the duo’s imaginative production stylings, “AGONIZE” effortlessly blends a modern hard-hitting midtempo style with retro synthwave sounds, transporting listeners to an ultra-futuristic cyberpunk soundscape.
F.O.O.L shares, “As soon as I heard Extra Terra’s sound for the first time I immediately knew we had to do something together. Since we both share similar views of a dystopian future with our music it was an absolute pleasure working on this and I hope everyone will enjoy it just as much as we did creating it!”
Extra Terra adds, “I think it’s better to let everyone have their own vision of “AGONIZE”. But when I listen to the track, I have images of an evil AI that seeks to imprison humans in a virtual reality world that looks like hell.”
